So, Who Are Boroughbridge Marina?
Formed in early 2006 'Boroughbridge Marina Limited' took over the day to day operation of the Marina at Boroughbridge in November 2006. Originally a site which was only operated on a part-time basis, the Marina was an opportunity which could be expanded upon.
Additional services were soon offered at the marina site, the boat lifting facility was re-instated and a cabin was purchased to house the new office and Chandlery facility. Additional facilities are to be added in the future, including a Laundrette, Narrowboat Lifting (Winter 2009/10) and hopefully additional berthing.
The business is run by Simon Taylor, who up to April 2009 single-handedly ran the marina operation with occasional assistance from one or two berth holders. However, May 2009 saw the arrival of Steve Payne who works for the marina on a part-time basis, covering sales, repairs and general maintenance of the grounds. Steve has had hands-on experience with boating and has also previously worked at Ullswater in the Lake District.
Our on-line Chandlery facility continues to expand ever further with presence on www.ebay.co.uk and www.amazon.co.uk and boat sales are continuing to grow despite the recession worries!
